Colorado is home to the largest aspen forests in the world, so it’s no surprise that photographers flock here during the fall. I began my trip by visiting the iconic Maroon Bells, shooting the sunrise with no fewer than 50 other photographers. Then I made my way south towards Crested Butte via Kebler Pass, and finally over to Ridgway and the beautiful San Juans. I didn’t catch any truly remarkable light, but the weather was mostly fair and this 5 day trip served as an excellent intro to the photographic opportunities that exist in Colorado.
