The Grand Canyon is one of the most well-known and photographed of all the National Parks, so we were excited at the thought of exploring this deep chasm that has been cut into the heart of Arizona. I have some new respect for those mules that hike up and down the canyon each day, that is hard work. We made it from rim to river the first day and then up and out the next. The river seemed to be devoid of fish, so there wasn’t any reasonable excuse to hang around in the 100 degree heat. Unfortunately, this two-day adventure has left a lasting impression on all three of us: our knees have never been the same.
